Best coffee shops to study in Lincoln

For me, I absolutely adore a cafe setting – the atmosphere is relaxing, the interior is beautiful and I find that I can really focus.  There are usually a lot of other students, or business women/men, working in these places too which always motivates me to work even harder. Thus, here are my three ultimate places to study outside of the university grounds, but within a 20 minute walk from campus.

Angel Coffee House

One of my all-time favourite places to study in Lincoln is the Angel Coffee House. Not only does it offer amazing vegan treats, it serves some amazing hot drinks to keep you going throughout a long study day; it is found in a quiet location just off the high street. I find the ambience calming and I always find that it’s a great spot to get creative. Doing work at the Angel Coffee House always makes me feel inspired and it’s a great space for clearing your mind. The interior is small, quaint and the furniture is extremely comfortable too. You can find the perfect spot and be happy there for hours; whether you’re writing your way through your dissertation or planning your next essay, I think this is a great place for long term studying sessions.

200 Degrees

Another very exciting place to study is the new chain cafe, 200 Degrees, it just opened it’s Lincoln branch this month. I was so eager to try out their delicious coffees and get productive in this quirky little cafe. Like Base Camp, the interior is stunning and the atmosphere is peaceful. If you like some gentle music on in the background as you work, 200 Degrees is definitely the place for you! I tend to get a lot of work done in places that are not overly crowded and have gentle music on in the background. It’s just such a lovely and positive place to do your work in so I tend to find myself heading there on days where I need to stay on task and get a lot of work done.

Caffè Nero

Finally, my last cafe go-to has to be Caffè Nero. This definitely deserves a spotlight because it is always the place I return to. The Caffè Nero located in the St Marks area of Lincoln is my favourite because the windows are so large and let a lot of light into the cafe. This always initiates productivity for me, as a lighter environment keeps me awake and focused. I’ve finished many an essay in Caffè Nero over almost two years at the University of Lincoln, so this is definitely a great study place for me. An added bonus is that if you’re on certain phone network providers, some coffee shops offer you a free coffee which means you can save money too!

What are you favourite places to study in Lincoln? Do you go to the same places as me or do you tend to stick to the library?
