So Christmas is good for three things – food, gifts, and great TV! Television channels and online streaming subscriptions have now released their Christmas plans and I wanted to go through some of my personal favourites that I’m excited to see.

Emily in Paris (Season 3) – Netflix

If you’re a fan of Netflix’s Emily in Paris, season three will be available from the 21st December. Emily has a tricky decision to make regarding a new job prospect with Sylvie, or whether she’ll stay with her current boss Madeline. What will she decide on?

If you haven’t already seen Emily in Paris, I would thoroughly recommend it. Just for Lily Collins’ perfect acting alone!

The Santa Clauses – Disney+

Now, this is a brand new series that started a few weeks ago. If you’re a fan of The Santa Clause film series, you’ll love this. It still features Tim Allen as Scott Calvin/Santa Claus too! The premise is:

‘After nearly three decades of being Santa Claus, Scott Calvin’s magic begins to falter. As he struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, Scott discovers a new clause that forces him to re-think his role as Santa and as a father.’

Episodes are released every Wednesday!

Ghosts (Christmas Special) – BBC

If you grew up with Horrible Histories, I’m sure you’ve given Ghosts a good watch too! Join the ghosts of Button House alongside Alison and Mike this Christmas as they try to overcome yet another problem. The episode premise is:

Mike’s loaded Tupperware comes in handy when their journey hits a bump in the road forcing them to reassess their Christmas Day plans. Kitty gets her moment in the spotlight thanks to a much-needed pep talk from a surprising source.’

Join Pat, Kitty, Thomas, Julian, Fanny, Robin, The Captain, Sir Humphrey, Alison and Mike on Christmas Day at 7.25 pm.

Inside No. 9 (Christmas Special) – BBC

Whether you’ve seen any of Reece Shearsmith’s and Steve Pemberton’s work before, you’re bound to adore Inside No. 9. The anthology series has been running since 2014 and will be returning this Christmas with a festive ghost story. I won’t spoil too much as with Inside No. 9, it’s usually best to go in knowing as little as possible but this episode features Reece and Steve respectively, Simon Callow and Shobna Gulati entitled ‘The Bones of St. Nicholas’.

The Inside No. 9 Christmas Special will be aired on BBC Two on Thursday 22nd December at 9 pm.

Happy Valley (Series 3) – BBC

If you’re a drama addict like I am, you would have seen Happy Valley from years back (the first series was back in 2014). Starring Sarah Lancashire, Siobhan Finneran and James Norton, after 7 years the show is returning for a third series. The premise of the series is that Catherine (played by Sarah) has discovered the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir. This then unravels news and creates a series of events that lead her back to Tommy Lee Royce (James).

The series will begin on 1st January on BBC One.
