The Ross Lucas Medical School Library is the newest addition to the Brayford Campus and is the perfect study spot! Situated inside the beautiful new medical building it’s packed with both collaborative and private study spaces and is a great way to get productive. Despite the name anyone can use this library and its facilities so this article will ensure you know all about them!

Starting with the main library situated on the first floor you’ll first be greeted by the enquiries desk on your right. Make sure to make use of the librarians if you’re stuck or unsure about anything as they’re there and happy to help you. There’s a wide range of computer spaces, along with private study booths, bookable study rooms and collaborative study space with beautiful views of the Brayford campus. Biomedical and health sciences books are located on this floor too and can be taken out with your library card or reserved and picked up online. There is also printing and paper cutting facilities, along with referencing guides so make sure to ask if you’re unsure!

Located on the second floor is the library learning lounge, this has access to a kitchen for those long study sessions, a variety of bookable study rooms, printer/photocopier and lots of seating equipped with plug sockets. You can also eat your hot food here and this communal space does not need to be booked out. A roof terrace is also placed on this floor and is a great way to grab a breath of fresh air.

The fourth floor also has study spaces paired which give you an amazing bird eye view of the beautiful Brayford campus!

A top tip is if you’re working collaboratively make sure to either book a private study room or use one of the study lounges as the Ross library tends to be quieter with its silent study areas. The library also has a lift situated behind the stairs and disabled toilets on each floor so is accessible to everyone.
