Mother’s Day: Places in Lincoln to Take your Mum

Mother’s Day is approaching and if your mum is planning on popping to Lincoln, you may want to pre-plan some activities on where to take her! Here are my top five places to take your mum this week:

1. The Little Pottery Studio

The Little Pottery Studio is located in St Marks Square, just next to Toby Carvery. It’s an independent, privately run pottery studio that allows you to paint or create your own creation! For Mother’s Day this year, they are hosting an event on Thursday 24th March from 7pm called ‘Mum & Daughter/Son – Flower Bowls’ where for £50 for the two of you can create and paint your own flower bowls. If you’re interested, you can book the event here!

2. Coffee Cats

Is your mum a cat person? Does she love a good cup of coffee and supporting local businesses? Why not book a session at Coffee Cats – Lincoln’s only cat cafe! Coffee Cats is a personal favourite of mine, home to seven rescue cats of all ages you can enjoy a peaceful cup of coffee and a slice of cake in their newly renovated cafe located at the bottom of Steep Hill near the Strait and Narrow. You will need to pre-book this one but that can be done here.

3. Castle Wall Walk

The Castle Wall is a beautiful walk on a nice day, and with Spring approaching the weather is beautiful at the moment. You’ll get stunning views overlooking Lincoln and of course a brilliant view of the newly renovated Cathedral now without scaffolding. This one doesn’t require pre-booking but it is advised (given it is on the weekend).

4. The Botanist

The Botanist located in the Cornhill opposite Cosy Club is doing a two-course and three-course set menu for Mothering Sunday! Two courses are £25, and three are £30. If you’re like me and like to check out the menu before going, you can do so by clicking here but alternatively, why not take her for a champagne brunch? For £25 you can take your mum for brunch and enjoy a glass of champagne.

5. Royal William IV

Renowned for their roast dinners, Royal William IV are hosting even better roast dinner this Sunday. They will be extending their service to 8pm and booking is advised.
