This year’s Lincoln Christmas Market promises to be a long weekend of everything festive you could possibly want!  From Thursday 1st December 2022 – Sunday 4th December 2022, Castle Hill in Lincoln (LN1 3AA) and the old town will be filled to the brim with stalls of all varieties, as well as music, festive décor, and fairground rides to delight you whatever your age.  It offers the perfect chance to spend time with your family and friends and get into the festive spirit, and is the perfect place to get almost any Christmas gift you can think of!

The market’s opening times are as follows:

Thursday 1st December – 12:00 – 21:30

Friday 2nd December – 10:00 – 21:30

Saturday 3rd December – 10:00 – 21:30

Sunday 4th December – 10:00 – 19:00

Entry to the Christmas Market around town and in the castle grounds is always free, so you only really need to worry about bringing money for spending on the stalls – and in that respect I would advise making sure you have cash on hand!  Though many of the stalls will have card machines, most will only take cash.  Also, in past years Lincoln Castle has organised an Illuminated Wall Walk which requires a small charge – for more information on this, it’s worth checking the Lincoln Castle events page closer to the time for your information, and potential booking options, if you fancy getting the best possible views!

When it comes to accessing the market, if you’re a Lincoln local then it’s an easy walk!  However if you’re coming from further afield don’t worry, there will be a dedicated Christmas Market Park and Ride service operating from the Lincolnshire Showground on the A15, just north of Lincoln.  The park and ride site will be well sign-posted on all approach roads, and for those using a sat nav the postcode is LN1 2ZF – just make sure that you remember to prioritise the directions/signs when you are approaching the venue!  There will also be a dedicated service for those with disabilities, where there will be access to specially adapted vehicles which also run from the showground to the market site.  There is a charge for the use of the park and ride which will vary according to day, passenger age and other factors, which you can find out from The City of Lincoln Council.

Furthermore, Lincoln Council considers the safety and security of visitors to the market as a top priority.  Across all four days there will be marshalls carefully allocated to every area of the market, and they will be able to offer whatever advice and assistance you need, as well as keep everyone safe.  There will also be ample medical and welfare facilities on site for all visitors – if you have any concerns then you can contact the council directly, and they will answer any queries you have prior to your visit.

The Lincoln Christmas Market is one of the biggest and most popular in the country, and for good reason! I genuinely couldn’t recommend it enough, and it’s honestly the perfect kind of event I feel everyone needs right now – it offers the perfect opportunity to get into the festive, joyful spirit with the ones you love, without necessarily having to break your bank account. Whether you spend four days, one day, or even just an hour, it’s an event that you definitely don’t want to miss!
