Top 5 student-friendly activities to do with your friends

Summer is here! Deadlines have passed and it’s time to relax, recharge, and have fun with friends. I’ve put together 5 activities that are perfect to do over the summer, in and around Lincoln.

The Cinema

Get the popcorn ready! With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jurassic World Dominion and Top Gun Maverick all hitting the silver screen this summer, a cinema visit is a must! In Lincoln the two main cinemas are the Everyman (LN5 7ET, just off the high street, near boots) and Odeon (LN1 1YS, on the Brayford, next to the Square Sail). It’s best to book tickets online in advance, but you can also get tickets on the door.

Escape Rooms

Who doesn’t love a good escape room? In Lincoln there are a few to choose from, including: Deliverance (LN2 1JS), Enigma (LN2 1EW), Escape Lincoln (LN2 5HQ), and Tension Twisted Realities (LN2 5AZ). They’re all great fun, even if you don’t end up escaping!

Axed Lincoln

Time for something a little different: axe throwing! Located at LN5 8LG, this is a unique activity perfect for a group of friends over summer. Sessions involve a safety briefing, tips on how to throw, and time to use the interactive smart lanes to throw axes at different targets! There is also the opportunity to create a ‘package’ along with Escape Lincoln, Urban Putters, and Dough Loco Pizza, as they’re all within the Vulcan Park Warehouse!

Gridline Racing

Racing isn’t just for Vin Diesel and the cast of Fast and Furious! At Gridline Racing (LN5 8HF), you and your friends can race against each other in the first indoor multi storey circuit in the county! Recently refurbished in 2019, the circuit is 450m long, and is perfect for a group of friends looking for an adrenaline rush over the summer!

Playzone

Do you remember being a kid? A proper kid? Charging about a soft play centre without a care in the world? Do you also remember that haunting moment you realised you’d ‘outgrown’ these play areas? Well, it’s time to grow back down again! Playzone holds a student night every Tuesday, where for just £7 you can run around the soft play centre next to LNER stadium, at LN5 7XH. I really recommend this one, as me and my friends go most weeks!

I hope you all have a wonderful summer, filled with fun activities so refresh and recharge after a hard terms’ studying!
